The real estate blog Movoto recently made a list of the top 10 snobbiest cities in the country. Our state of California nabbed 6 of the 10 spots on the list, with Pasadena being number 1. Thousand Oaks, Glendale, and Fullerton also can be found near the top.
According to the blog, the cities were determined by a number of factors such as home prices, incomes, education, local landmarks and attractions, country clubs, art galleries and performing arts centers, and number of fast food restaurants (with fewer being better).
Of course, not everyone is pleased with the list, including many Californians. KPCC, a Southern California Public Radio reached out to its followers on Twitter and Facebook, asking what they thought of the determination, and many in the area thought the determination was flawed, asking why education and art appreciation are considered snobby.
The full list is as follows:
- Pasadena, CA
- Thousand Oaks, CA
- Alexandria, VA
- Naperville, IL
- Santa Rosa, CA
- Fort Lauderdale, FL
- Glendale, CA
- Sunnyvale, CA
- Fullerton, CA
- Eugene, OR
So now we turn to our readers, do you agree with the site’s list? What other cities do you consider “snobby”? Do you think other parts of the country were underrepresented? Let us know below.
