Got a reputation for uncontrollable road rage? Perhaps your city is to blame.
The website Obrella released its list of “Best and Worst Commuter Cities in California” on Wednesday, and we think it could explain a lot of our frustration.
“The typical California worker spends more than 54 minutes commuting each workday,” according to Obrella Data Analyst Alexia Chianis, so it’s no wonder we’re so stressed.
“Recognizing that excessive commute times can have direct impact on living expenses, insurance premiums, happiness, and overall health, we wanted to recognize cities that make commuting easier on their residents,” Chianis added. “We’re hopeful that readers will consider the impact of lengthy commutes when choosing a city to live in.”
To determine the rankings, Obrella analyzed traffic data from the 2013 U.S. Census Bureau survey for places with a population over 10,000. The results were as follows:
10 BEST COMMUTER CITIES:
1. Susanville
2. Ridgecrest
3. Eureka
4. San Luis Obispo
5. Isla Vista (CDP)
6. Ukiah
7. Arcata
8. Monterey
9. Blythe
10. South Lake Tahoe
