Think NASCAR, John Deere apparel and a love of all things Jeff Foxworthy is confined to the Deep South? Think again. The people over at RoadSnacks.com have just released a list of the most redneck cities in California.
Now, keep in mind that the term “redneck” isn’t always a pejorative. For many, redneck culture is a source of pride—a slice of Americana that often denotes a strong love of God, family and country. With that said, RoadSnacks seems to have embraced all the typical stereotypes here, taking things like bars and mobile homes into consideration. They also considered factors like gun and ammo stores, Walmarts, Bass Pro shops and tobacco depots.
The top 20 were as follows:
1. Oroville
2. Barstow
3. Big Bear Lake
4. Sacramento
5. Red Bluff
6. Yreka
7. Perris
8. Redding
9. Hayfork
10. Fresno
11. Solvang
12. Fort Bragg
13. Westlake Village
14. Corte Madera
15. Woodside
16. St. Helena
17. Willows
18. Crescent City
19. Castroville
20. Loomis
