A young San Francisco police officer once dubbed the “Hot Cop of Castro” has been arrested for a hit-and-run incident that left two pedestrians injured over the holiday weekend.
Police say Officer Chris Kohrs was off duty at 2:20 a.m. Sunday when his Dodge Charger struck two men crossing Broadway Street near Montgomery. Kohrs then allegedly fled the scene on foot, leaving his vehicle behind. The car was easily traced back to Kohrs, who turned himself into police and was booked on two felony counts of hit-and-run.
Kohrs is no stranger to the community. In fact, the attractive cop became somewhat of a local celebrity last year when a flattering photo of him went viral. The attention led to an avid Facebook following, a series of shirtless photo shoots and a segment on ABC’s Good Morning America.
The hit-and-run victims, both in their 40s, are recovering at a local hospital. Authorities said it is not clear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
Officer Kohrs was on medical leave for an unrelated condition at the time of the incident.
