Los Altos has selected Chris Jordan to be the Interim City Manager, as of last week. Los Altos Mayor Jeannie Bruins and the Los Altos City Council approved the hiring of Jordan during its April 26, 2016 meeting. Jordan will replace outgoing City Manager Marcia Somers who announced her resignation April 1, 2016.
“We are delighted to bring Chris on board as Interim City Manager. He brings a wealth of experience that will serve us well while the City Council engages in an extensive search process for a permanent City Manager,” said Bruins. “It is imperative that service to our community and progress on our priorities proceed without interruption during this period.”
Jordan comes to Los Altos after serving 10 years as the City Manager of West Linn, Oregon. In West Linn, Jordan managed an organization similar in size to Los Altos with 125 employees and a biennial budget of approximately $100 million. The Portland Tribune reproted "West Linn announced that Eileen Stein, most recently city manager for Mt. Angel, would be hired as Jordan's permanent replacement. Stein's tenure is set to begin in June."
Jordan comes to Los Altos as Marcia Somers leaves after serving as City Manager since April 2012. The Merc has a brief write up here.
