Californians Killed or Injured in Las Vegas Massacre

Dozens of California locals, including a number of teachers and off-duty public safety officers, were among those killed or wounded in a shooting rampage at an outdoor concert in Las Vegas Sunday Oct. 1. Updates are being provided periodically but, so far, this is the list we have of Californians killed or injured as a result of the worst mass shooting in American history.

Deaths

Andrea Castilla, 28, Huntington Beach.

Angie Gomez, Riverside. Graduate of Riverside Polytechnic High School.

Austin Davis, 29, Riverside.

Bailey Schweitzer, 20, Bakersfield. A former Centennial High cheerleader and a receptionist at Infinity Communications. Her family owns the Bakersfield Speedway. 

Brian Fraser, 39, La Palma.

Candice Bowers, Garden Grove. Mother of two.

Carrie Barnette, 34, Riverside. A Disneyland employee for over 10 years. 

Chris Roybal, a 28-year-old Afghanistan War veteran and Corona resident.

Chris Hazencomb, 44, Camarillo.

Christiana Duarte of Torrance, an employee of the Los Angeles Kings hockey team.

Dana Gardner, 55. Dana was a deputy recorder-county clerk for the San Bernardino County Assessor/Recorder/County Clerk's Office.

Denise Cohen, former San Ramon resident.

Derrick "Bo" Taylor of Oxnard. He was a lieutenant with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Hannah Ahlers, Redlands. Beloved wife and mother of three. 

Keri Galvan, 31, Thousand Oaks. Wife and mother of three.

Jack Beaton, 54, Bakersfield. Husband and father of two.

Jennifer Topaz Irvine, 42. A San Diego-based attorney.

Jenny Parks, Palmdale. Mother of two. 

John Phippen, 56, Santa Clarita.

Jordyn Rivera, 21. Student at Cal State San Bernardino.

Kelsey Meadows, 28. A substitute teacher at Taft Union High School in Taft, California. 

Kurt von Tillow, 55, Cameron Park.

Lisa Patterson, Palos Verdes.

Melissa Ramirez, 26, Los Angeles.

Michelle Vo. She was originally from San Jose, but was working in Pasadena.

Patricia Mestas, 67, of Menifee.

Sandy Casey, a Special Education teacher for the Manhattan Beach Unified School District.

Rachael Parker, 33, of Manhattan Beach. Rachel was a records technician for the Manhattan Beach Police Department.

Rocio Guillen, 40, Eastvale. A recently engaged mother of four. 

Stacee Etcheber of Novato.

Susan Smith, 53, Simi Valley. Smith was an office manager at Vista Fundamental Elementary and had worked for the district for 16 years.

Teresa Nicole Kimura, 38, Placentia. 

Thomas Day Jr., 54, Corona.

Victor Link, 55, Orange County.

Injured

Aaron Mundhenke, a Bakersfield police officer.

Assistant Fire Chief Steve Treskes of the Torrance Fire Department. He was shot in the leg.

Brian and Lara Mack, Santa Barbara.

Frank and Autumn Bignami, faculty members at Paramount High School.

Ontario police officer Michael Gracia and his wife Summer. Michael is in critical condition.

One unnamed Los Angeles police officer who is expected to recover.

One Orange County sheriff’s deputy and two of their family members. All sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

One police officer and another city employee from Newport Beach. Both are expected to survive.

Two unnamed Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department employees. One is in critical condition. The other is stable.

Two members of the Los Angeles Fire Department. Both are expected to survive.

Two unnamed Riverside County Sheriff’s Office employees -- one deputy and one correctional officer. The deputy is in critical condition. The correctional officer has been released.
