It’s Valentine’s Day, lovers. And whether you enjoy a big to-do or a low-key celebration, it always helps to know which cities offer the best in romantic fare.
Unless, of course, you’re one of those people that loathe the holiday with a passion. If so, this article isn’t for you.
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, online reservation booking site Open Table has named what it considers the most romantic cities in the U.S. The rankings were based on the percentage of “romantic” restaurants, establishments that offer tables for two, and the percentage of people who dined out for the holiday. So it’s hardly scientific but we’ll take what we can get.
Baton Rouge, Louisiana took the top spot, followed by Birmingham, Alabama and Boise, Idaho. Shockingly, Carmel was the only California City to make the top 25 at No. 4, with Cincinnati, Ohio rounding out the top 5.
Really? Color us skeptical.
