Los Angeles and San Francisco are among the top 10 most rat infested cities in the U.S., according to the latest annual rankings from Orkin Pest Control.
Chicago came in at No. 1. Los Angeles was runner-up. San Francisco was No. 5 just behind New York and Washington, D.C. Detroit, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Denver and Minneapolis followed. San Diego came in at No. 19, moving up 13 spots since the previous year.
If ever there were a time to care about rat infestations, this is it. While the COVID-19 pandemic is believed to have originated with Chinese bats, rats have played a central role in some of history’s deadliest pandemics and a notorious vector for disease.
