The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in the Golden State. Eight California cities have made Go.Verizon.com’s list of the 15 most ambitious places in the US. Seven of them are in Southern California.
Verizon looked at cities with populations over 100,000. It scored them on six factors: median income; unemployment; college degrees; number of business applications; the percentage of people who have started a new business; and homeownership. Each one was weighted to get a total score out of 100%.
These were the 15 most ambitious cities:
1. Sugar Land, TX
2. West Covina, CA
3. Torrance, CA
4. Santa Clarita, CA
5. Carlsbad, CA
6. Norwalk, CA
7. Pembroke Pines, FL
