Two teenage sisters were robbed while walking to Fairfax High School last week in a brazen attack that was captured on video. Los Angeles School police told CBS Los Angeles that it was the seventh such incident in a single week.
The victims were walking in the 7200 block of Melrose Avenue about 7:20 a.m. when they were approached from behind by two women who struck them and pulled them to the ground by their hair, according to LAPD.
The suspects demanded that they hand over their cellphones, then held them by their hair until they unlocked the access codes to the phones," the department said in a statement Thursday.
Video shows a suspect pulling one of the girls’ hair.
According to LAPD Lt. Daniel Gonzalez, another student was robbed on his way to Los Angeles High School by the same suspects just an hour later.
Police are still looking for the perpetrators. They have asked the public to review the footage to see if they recognize the suspects.
