The City of Maywood recently received five grants totaling over $3.2 million in funding. California Consulting Senior Project Manager, David Marquez, wrote all five successful applications with Maywood’s administration team.
EPA Community Projects: Sewer System Repair/Infrastructure Project has been awarded for $1,500,000. These monies will help complete Maywood’s sewer system repair project at Slauson Ave and Atlantic Ave.
The second award, House Committee on Appropriations Community Project Grant Program awarded for $1 Million. These grant funds will support the renovation and equipment upgrades to the City’s Emergency Operation Center.
The third award is CalFire Urban and Community Forestry Grants Program Urban Forestry Management for $590,340. These grant funds will help establish a Baldwin Park Urban Forest Management Plan and an Early Tree Planting project. The project will expand Maywood’s Urban Canopy.
Fourth, we have the CalOES-California Local Hazard Mitigation Planning Grant awarded for $80,000. These monies will support the development of a Local Hazard Mitigation Plan addressing socially vulnerable communities.
Last, but not least, the San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy (RMC) Grant was awarded for $30,000. The monies form this grant will support the design and installation of an interpretative sign project and program at Riverfront and Maywood Park.
That’s a total award of $3,200,340!
