For many, the phrases “business friendly” and “Los Angeles” are polar opposites and seemingly contradictory.
But the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation is attempting to dispel at least some of those myths, and is attempting to identify the most business-friendly cities in Los Angeles County.
The LAEDC will announce the winner in November, but has revealed the list of finalists. Bellflower, Glendale, Lakewood, Palmdale and Santa Clarita are finalists for the population 65,000 and over category, and the cities of Artesia, El Segundo, Glendora, Pico Rivera and Vernon are finalists in the population under 65,000 category.
One winner from each category will be announced live at the 19th Annual Eddy Awards® on Thursday, November 13th, at the Beverly Hilton.
The finalists were selected based on o Demonstrated priority commitment to economic development, excellence in programs and services designed to facilitate business entry, expansion, and retention, competitive business tax rates and fee structures and availability of economic incentives.
Lancaster and La Mirada took home top honors in last year’s contest. Read more from LAEDC here.
