More than half of all Americans say they’re unsatisfied with their current jobs. But the prospect of making a switch can be almost as dreadful, with a myriad of factors to consider. Chief among them: Location, location, location. Know where to look and you just might land the gig you’ve always wanted.
Enter Glassdoor.com. The popular jobseekers site recently combed the data to determine the 25 best cities for jobs. The researchers looked at available job opportunities, cost of living, job satisfaction and work-life balance to compile their rankings for 2016.
Two California cities topped the list. San Jose and San Francisco took the #1 and #2 spots with Glassdoor job scores of 4.0 and 3.9 respectively. According to the researchers, there are 61,038 job openings in San Jose, where the medium base salary is $112,000. San Francisco has 121,597 openings with a median salary of $88,000.
Seattle, Boston and Washington, D.C. rounded out the top 5. San Diego came in at #21.
