Between Russia, Capitol Hill testimonies, and that turbulent Alabama Senate race, Jeff Sessions is a little busy these days. But that has hasn’t stopped him from trying to carry out President Trump’s coveted crackdown on sanctuary cities.
Twenty-nine jurisdictions received new letters from the Justice Department Wednesday warning them that they’re in danger of losing federal grant money unless they prove they’re in compliance with 8 U.S.C. Section 1373, which bars states and local governments from refusing to cooperate with immigration authorities. They have until Dec. 9 to do so, according to the Attorney General.
