America’s Happiest City is in California

Four California cities have made the top 10 on WalletHub’s latest list of “Happiest Cities in America,” with Fremont taking the #1 spot nationwide.

WalletHub compared 182 of the largest cities in the country. They were each scored on 29 metrics across three main categories: 1) Emotional & Physical Wellbeing 2) Incone & Employment 3) Community & Environment.

Oakland Park, Kansas was the second-happiest city after Fremont, followed by San Jose and Madison, Wisconsin. See a list of California's winners below. National rankings are in parentheses.
