Stockton’s deputy city manager Christian Clegg has been hired as the next top administrator for Bakersfield. He will assume the role on March 2, replacing longtime city manager Alan Tandy.

Clegg has worked in local government for 14 years and has been deputy city manager of Stockton for the past five. He previously worked for Johnson County, Kansas and Tacoma, Washington. He holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Kansas.
Alan Tandy formally retired this month after 27 years at the helm.
