Two California cities have made a list of the 25 Best Places to Live for Quality of Life in the U.S.
U.S. News & World Report relied on a combination of data from the U.S. Census Bureau, FBI, and U.S. Department of Labor, as well as its own internal numbers. The 150 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. were analyzed for this report. Factors such as crime, health care quality and access, education, jobs, and average commute times were taken into account.
The two California cities to make the list were San Diego (#11) and Santa Barbara (#22).
San Diego has an overall score of 6.4 out of 10. Its quality of life score is 7.0 and its value score is 4.6.
Santa Barbara’s overall score is 6.3. Quality of life is a 6.9 and value is 4.3.
The top 5 best places to live in America, according to U.S. News, are:
Ann Arbor, Michigan
Boulder, Colorado
Boise, Idaho
Honolulu, Hawaii
Raleigh, North Carolina
