Beverly Hills Interim City Manager Mahdi Aluzri has been selected by the city council for the permanent city manager position, pending contract approval on October 6. Aluzri will replace Jeff Kolin who stepped into retirement earlier this year.
“Mahdi is a seasoned professional who has done an outstanding job as Interim City Manager,” said Beverly Hills Mayor Julian Gold. “His integrity, his leadership skills and his intimate knowledge of Beverly Hills has served our city very well. He is both a practical and creative manager whose skills and principles will guide our city organization and the Beverly Hills community as we move forward.”
Aluzri has served the City of Beverly Hills for nearly two decades, including 5 years as Director of the Planning and Community Development Department. From 2007 to 2009, he was also employed as Deputy City Manager in Rancho Cucamonga.
In his capacity as Beverly Hills’ top administrator, Aluzri will oversee a staff of more than 800 and a budget in excess of $400 million.
