Former California legislative aide Nicolas Gauthier has announced his appointment as City Administrator of Biggs, California.
Biggs is a small farming community in the Sacramento Valley (Butte County). It was incorporated as a general law city in 1903. In 2019, its estimated population was 2,066.
Biggs’ former city administrator, Josh Cook, was terminated last year. He was then appointed by the Trump administration to serve as Regional Manager for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Rodney Harr had been serving as the interim administrator since Cook’s departure.
Gauthier previously worked for State Senator Kelly Seyarto (R-Murrieta) and State Assemblymember Steve Choi (R-Irvine). He is a U.S. Army veteran and currently works as an adjunct professor at William Jessup University in San Jose.
