The City of Brea has welcomed a new Community Services Director. Carrie Hernandez assumed the position on August 17.
Hernandez most recently served as Brea’s Deputy Community Services Director. She has worked for the city since 2000. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton.
“Hernandez has 30 years of local government experience with proven leadership skills, great communication, and innovative thinking,” the city said in a press release.
The city credited Hernandez with leading its cultural arts, special events and human services programs.
“Her most recent efforts include leading Brea’s first Cultural Arts Master Plan, completing a Senior Center Feasibility Study, and overseeing the Cultural Arts Commission, Parks, Recreation and Human Services Commission, Art in Public Places Committee and Senior Leadership Council.”
