The City of Brisbane in San Mateo County has hired a new top administrator. In a unanimous vote this month, the city council appointed Jeremy Dennis as City Manager.
Dennis most recently served as Town Manager for Portola Valley. He is also the former District Director and Chief of Staff for Assemblyman Rich Gordon and the former District Director for Assemblyman Lou Papan. He earned his undergraduate degrees in Political Science and History from UC Davis and a Master of Science in Regional & Urban Planning from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
Dennis succeeds Clay Holstine, who retired in December after 25 years on the job. Holstine was the longest-serving city manager in San Mateo County history.
“With the Brisbane City Council selecting Jeremy as their top candidate, I am extremely optimistic for the City’s future, as Jeremy brings extensive experience in team building, citywide and department strategic planning, and overall organizational goal setting,” Holstine said.
"Words cannot express my gratitude to the Brisbane City Council for this humbling opportunity to serve the residents of Brisbane,” Dennis remarked. “I am excited to support the City Council, the community, and the staff to further the qualities that have made Brisbane a great place to live and work," remarked Jeremy.”
The nationwide search for Brisbane’s city manager was led by Executive Search firm Teri Black & Co.
