California City has a new permanent administrator. Patrick Marsh assumed city manager duties on Monday, following his appointment last month.
Marsh is the sixth person to assume city manager duties in a little over one year. Martín Piñon was hired as interim city manager one month ago. He replaced interim city manager Michele Martinez, who was on the job for just 10 weeks before she resigned. Previous acting or permanent city managers include Joe Barragan, Inges Elmes, Jim Hart, and Doug Dunford.
Marsh’s public sector experience spans 30 years. He most recently served as city manager for Fernley, Nevada. Previously, he managed Fitchburg, Wisconsin. He got his bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, and Political Science from Augustana College and received a master’s degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University.
