A new report from WalletHub has named Fremont, California as the best city in the U.S. to raise a family.
WalletHub compared 182 cities across the United States based on 42 key metrics to determine family friendliness. The main categories were family fun, health and safety, education and child care, affordability, and socioeconomics.
Fremont ranked No. 1 in socioeconomics. With a median household income of $176,350 a year, the city also has the third-lowest rate of families living in poverty. Almost 50% of Fremont households have children under age 18.
