The site “mylife.com” recently ranked the ten best cities in the nation to raise children. While Scottsdale, Arizona topped the list, California had an impressive showing, with four of the ten cities residing in our beautiful state.
The list was determined as follows: the site started with the 100 most populous cities in the US, and then ranked them depending on crime rate, public school ranking, public parks per capita, average family salary, and cost of living.
Once those criteria were determined, it was found that Fremont was the second best city to raise children, with the site praising their low crime rate, and the city’s ranking in the top five in three separate categories. Irvine came in a close third due to their high average income and their quality public schools.
The full list is as follows:
- Scottsdale, AZ
- Fremont, CA
- Irvine, CA
- Chandler, AZ
- Raleigh, NC
- Plano, TX
- San Diego, CA
- Honolulu, HI
- Henderson, NV
- San Jose, CA
