The California Latino Leadership Institute and its partner, the Southern California Latino Policy Center, invite all local municipal elected and appointed officials to their 2015 academy.
The Fall 2015 Elected Officials Training Academy 2.0 will be held Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Embassy Suites Downey, 8425 Firestone Blvd., Downey, CA 90241.
The Academy 2.0 is designed for all local municipal elected and appointed officials including school board members, city council, city commissions, county board of supervisors and county commissions. You do not need to be Latino to attend and diversity is encouraged.
Academy Participants will receive AB1234 Ethics certification, participate in leadership development, team building training in addition to a dinner presentation by UCLA’s Dr. David Hayes-Bautista on the CA History Project highlighting the Latino historical contributions to California’s rich and diverse history.
Assembly Member Cristina Garcia currently serves as the Honorary Chair of the 2015 CLLI California Elected Officials Training Academy Program. Assembly Member Garcia has been a lifetime reformer. Voted into office on an anti-corruption platform she authored the 2014 political reform package the “Political Conduct, Ethics & Public Trust Acts of 2014”.
Registration fees for the October 9, 2014 One Day AB1234 Ethics certification and dinner is $50.00 per person and the October 9 -11, 2015 a 2.5 day weekend training is $125.00 per person and includes the AB:1234 Ethics certification and all meals.
