Every year, Gallup lets us know how communities across the U.S. are doing in terms of health, wellness, safety, and prosperity. The annual Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index is based on hundreds of thousands of resident surveys in 189 metropolitan areas and can shed light on community successes and where improvements can be made.
California did exceptionally well this year. Santa Cruz-Watsonville came it at No. 3. San Luis Obispo-Paso Robles ranked No. 7. Also in the top 20 were Santa Maria-Santa Barbara (No. 12), Santa Rosa (No. 17), and Salinas (No. 20).
Unfortunately, some California cities made the “worst” list as well. Chico was at No. 183. Bakersfield ranked No. 172. Be sure to check out the full report here.
