San Diego has been named the ‘greenest’ city in America by WalletHub.
The website ranked the country’s 100 largest cities across four categories for environmental friendliness: 1) Transportation 2) Environment 3) Energy Sources 4) Lifestyle & Policy.
Six out of the top 10 greenest cities were in the Golden State. That’s no surprise given the enormous emphasis our state and local governments have placed on environmental sustainability and combating climate change.
These were the top 10 greenest cities in California:
- San Diego (#1 nationally)
- Fremont (#4 nationally)
- Oakland (#6 nationally)
- San Francisco (#6 nationally)
- Irvine (#9 nationally)
- San Jose (#10 nationally)
- Sacramento (#12 nationally)
- Anaheim (#16 nationally)
- Long Beach (#18 nationally)
- Riverside (#19 nationally)
