PropertyShark has released its annual list of the most expensive zip codes in the United States. Once again, the Golden State dominates.

An astonishing 66% of the priciest neighborhoods in the country are right here in California, including seven of the zip codes in the top 10.

These are the most expensive zip codes in California, along with their national rankings, according to PropertyShark:

  1. 94027 in Atherton, San Mateo County (#1 nationally) -  Median Home Sale Price: $7,900,000

  2. 93108 in Santa Barbara (#5 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $5,052,000

  3. 92661 in Newport Beach, Orange County (#6 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,763,000

  4. 92657 in Newport Beach, Orange County (#7 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,720,000

  5. 92662 in Newport Beach, Orange County (#8 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,650,000

  6. 92067 in Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego County (#9 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,550,000

  7. 90402 in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County (#10 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,410,000

  8. 94022 in Los Altos, Santa Clara County (#11 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,300,000

  9. 94024 in Los Altos, Santa Clara County (#12 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,200,000

  10. 90210 in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County (#13 nationally) - Median Home Sale Price: $4,013,000

Overall, Los Angeles and Newport Beach are tied among California cities with the most expensive zip codes. The counties of Los Angeles, Santa Clara, Orange and San Mateo are the most expensive in the country with 18, 16, 11 and 9 of the 100 priciest zip codes in the U.S.
