Campbell City Clerk Anne Bybee has announced she will step down at the end of next month, concluding a 28-year run with the city.
“Working with the City has been a rewarding and enjoyable experience with a unique opportunity to serve as both an elected and appointed City Clerk,” said Bybee, who has decided to retire.
“During my tenure, I had the pleasure of working with many professional and well respected city managers, elected officials and staff,” she added.
City Manager Mark Linder called Bybee a key confidant who is known for her straight shooting.
“I’m really going to miss having Anne around,” Linder said.
During her tenure, Bybee earned numerous accolades, including the “Certified Clerk” and “Master Municipal Clerk” designations from the International Association of Municipal Clerks. In 2013, she was among 13 women recognized as part of the Women of Distinction Awards for promotion of leadership.
Bybee’s resignation is effective April 30. The city council is currently exploring its options for the recruitment of a new city clerk.
