Campbell City Manager Mark Linder has decided to retire after 30 years in public service, including 3 years with the Bay Area city. Linder announced his retirement Friday, saying it was time for him to move on to a new chapter in his life.
Before coming to Campbell, Linder served as Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Cupertino. He'd previously worked for the City of San Jose, holding the positions of Deputy City Manager, Assistant City Manager and Director of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services. Prior to that, he had worked as Town Manager of Los Gatos and as Assistant General Manager for the Santa Cruz Metropolitan Transit District.
“On behalf of the Campbell City Council, we sincerely thank Mark for his leadership and creative solutions,” Mayor Jason Baker said. “He was instrumental in hiring key department director positions, completing important capital improvement projects such as the Hacienda Avenue GreenStreet project, and ensuring that we had developed and maintained award-winning, balanced operating and capital budgets during his tenure.”
Linder will step down on Dec. 31.
