The city is using H2O Innovation to design and manufacture a system that will have a capacity of 3 million gallons a day.
Treated water from this facility will be put toward the city’s non-potable needs.
This is going to be the third expansion of the Carlsbad Water Recycling Facility and will get some funding help from the State.
H2O Innovation is the same group that the City of Cambria went through for a smaller water treatment system earlier this year.
Additionally, H2O Innovation was also recently selected to expand The Sweetwater Authority’s desalination plant from 4 million gallons daily to 5 million. That is the desalination plant near San Diego, and the expansion will the nearby cities of Bonita, Chula Vista, and National City.
