California Consulting Senior Project Manager Karen Simpson partnered with the City's administration to develop a winning project and application.
The Marlowe Park Restoration Project will consist of many upgrades including but not limited to the installation of ADA compliant facilities, a new family picnic shelter, new restrooms, new playground, resurfacing of basketball courts, upgraded walking/ jogging paths, interpretive demonstration garden to raise awareness/ learning in environmental stewardship, LED lighting to improve security, irrigation to improve water conservation, and a Family Learning Center to improve technology access for lower-income families.
In November 2016, 75% of Los Angeles County (County) voters approved the Los Angeles County Safe, Clean Neighborhood Parks, and Beaches Measure (Measure A). Funding through the Measure A grant program will be generated in perpetuity through the collection of a parcel tax, with an estimated total annual funding of $96.8 million across the County.
