The City of Industry has been awarded $320,000 through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Program to develop a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan that will guide future transportation safety improvements citywide.
This funding will support a data-driven planning process designed to reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities throughout the City’s jurisdiction. The Action Plan will be developed using crash and geospatial analyses, stakeholder interviews, public engagement events, and a comprehensive review of existing policies.
Key deliverables of the plan will include a prioritized list of evidence-based safety counter measures, cost and timeline estimates for implementation, an annual reporting framework, and strategic recommendations to inform future demonstration and implementation projects under the SS4A program.
Project Manager Karen Leventhal collaborated closely with City of Industry leadership and administrative staff to successfully secure this competitive federal funding, helping position the City for long-term transportation safety investments.
“Developing a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan allows us to thoughtfully assess where improvements are most needed and prioritize solutions that will have the greatest impact. This funding positions the City to make informed, strategic decisions that will help reduce traffic-related injuries and fatalities over the long term,” stated City Manager Joshua Nelson
This award reflects the City of Industry’s proactive commitment to creating safer streets for all users and strengthening its eligibility for future federal infrastructure and safety grants.
