Recently, the City of Oroville received $4,583,710 from the California State Department Parks and Recreation Office of Grants and Local Services (OGALS) Proposition 68: Statewide Park Development and Community Revitalization Program.
The City has owned, managed, and maintained Bedrock Park since its construction and plans to continue to maintain the park and trail. A vast majority of the park is open land and the need for upgrades became evident.
The new plans for Bedrock Park will include enhancing trail accessibility with signage, interpretive markers, restrooms, and water stations at three key locations. Other improvements will include planting trees and shrubs to provide additional shade, carbon sequestration, habitat values, and erosion control. A shade structure will also be constructed to provide year-round shelter and encourage users to enjoy nature and explore the trails and rivers throughout the year.
California Consulting Project Manager, Audra Lee, and city administration and staff teamed up to write the successful application.
Congratulations everyone!
