CityNews November Election Rundown
Someone had to sift it all.
Starting off with the San Francisco races, Mayor Lee wins big while more notably Sheriff Mirkarimi is out.
Moving onto the notable measures around the state, San Francisco’s hotly debated Prop F came up short. Sale tax measures did very well, with only one measure out of eight failing.
Down in LA County, a grip of municipal elections were held. The big trend across the county was that voters wanted new blood in office and it showed as more than a few incumbents lost in reelection bids.
And taking the California blinders off for a moment, all kinds of crazy stuff happened at the city level around the county. Houston rejected an anti-discrimination ordinance, Portland, Maine voted on $15 an hour, and Salt Lake City’s mayoral race was close!
Until next election!
