Six months after he took over as Clovis’ interim city manager, Luke Serpa has been tapped for the permanent position. The city council confirmed Serpa’s appointment in a 5-0 vote, effective July 1. A contract is expected to be approved this week.
Serpa was hired for the interim position following the retirement of Robert Woolley. He’s been with the city since 2005, formerly serving as its public utilities director. He held that job on an interim basis too before being appointed to the permanent slot in 2013.
Serpa’s resume also includes 17 years with Cal Fire and three years with the Regional Water Quality Control Board.
