Live Oak Public Works Director Ronald Walker has been chosen as the next city manager of Colfax in Placer County. Walker will take over for Mike Luken, who has served as interim city manager since July.
“I am deeply grateful and honored that the City Council selected me to serve as the next City Manager,” Walker said in a statement. “I am fully committed to fostering collaboration with community members, elected officials, and the dedicated city staff to build a prosperous community through transparency and active stakeholder involvement. Together, we will build a robust and thriving community for everyone.”
Mayor Pro Tem Kim Douglass, who led the search for Colfax’s top administrator, called Walker “a dynamic leader with a tested and proven track record of public service.”
“Ronald has distinguished himself among a field of outstanding candidates and is truly the right person at the right time to lead Colfax,” Douglass added.
As the head of Live Oak’s Public Works Department, Walker oversees major infrastructure projects and a budget over $9.9 million.
Colfax was actively seeking a candidate with experience in public works. In addition to managing the city’s operations and administration, Colfax’s city manager provides support to public works and engineering staff.
