The Corona City Council has appointed Darrell Talbert to the City Manager position, filling the vacancy created by the upcoming retirement of long-time City Manager Brad Robbins.
The City Council unanimouslydecided to appoint Talbert as Assistant City Manager effective December 4th, and then City Manager on April 17th, when Robbins leaves.
Talbert currently serves as the City’s Administrative Services Director, overseeing
Economic Development, Corona Housing Authority, Corona Successor Agency, HumanResources, and Risk Management.
Talbert is a former elected official. He has served twelve years on the City Council, three of those as Mayor. Prior to becoming a member of the executive management team at the City, Talbert owned and operated a publishing and collectibles company.
Mayor Eugene Montanez stated “Darrell is uniquely qualified to run the City and will bring a strong vision to move the City forward.”
Vice Mayor Jason Scott stated “Darrell brings an unparalleled perspective in his experience as a Council Member, staff member, business owner, and life-long resident which is a tremendous asset to any City. We are fortunate to have him.”
