A candidate for Buena Park City Council was arrested and cited Friday for allegedly stealing campaign signs from residents’ lawns.
If this story sounds familiar, it should. This literally just happened in another Orange County city. Fullerton City Council candidate Paulette Chaffee suspended her campaign last week after she was caught on video doing the same exact thing.
This time, the alleged culprit is Youngsun "Sunny" Park. She too was caught on video. Police are working to identify a man who was seen stealing some of the signs with her.
Park isn’t denying taking the signs. Rather, she says she intended to use them as “evidence” in a complaint she wants to file with the FPPC.
“Virginia Vaughn mass produced and placed negative signs with lies about me,” Park said in a Facebook post. “This type of dirty politics has no place in our city.”
