A nine-year old Great Pyrenees named Duke has been re-elected to his third one-year term as mayor of Cormorant, Minnesota in the northwestern part of the state. The election wasn’t even close for Duke, who first won the write-in election three years ago. No one opposed him and he won in a landslide.
“I don’t know who would run against him,” said Cormorant resident Karen Nelson, “because he’s done such great things for the community.”
Word is he plans to run again next year.
Duke’s popularity isn’t all that hard to figure out. He’ll never misappropriate your funds (only biscuits), he’ll always play ball and he’s cuter than all the nation’s other mayors combined.
Except for maybe these ones.
