The California Contract Cities Association has added the City of Eastvale as their latest member.
Eastvale is the first new city to join their ranks since the hiring of former Norwalk councilman Marcel Rodarte as Executive Director.
Rodarte spoke to CaliforniaCityNews.org about the announcement and said:
“It’s a sign that our organization (CCCA) is growing stronger and we are becoming a beacon of advocacy and collaboration for cities throughout Southern California. Cities recognize the California Contract Cities Association as one of the premier local government advocacy and education associations in the state and are now seeing the value in membership. Every city contracts for one service or another which is why we are redefining what it means to be a Contract City.”
The organization began in 1957 with eight cities and his since grown into a 70-city organization with a focus on assisting member cities by advocating and advancing the benefits of the contracting model, protecting local control, embracing public/private partnerships and providing educational opportunities for membership.
