It’s a big day in the East Bay, and Steven Tavares over at EB Citizen has provided just a snapshot with his 20 Things I Think About the East Bay General Election.
Some takeaways:
• Alameda City Council candidate Malia Vella could be an up-and-coming figure in Bay Area politics. Tavares calls her the most impressive non-incumbent running in Alameda County today.
• While all the Oakland incumbents have a good chance at staying onboard, Lynette Gibson McElhaney, who we’ve covered before, could get the boot as council president when all is said and done.
• Libby Schaaf, who has already had a tough year could end up regretting some of her endorsements this election cycle.
• Astronomical rent prices continue to be flashpoint in the Bay. Measure M1 in Alameda is just one of many initiatives aimed at protecting renters.
