Former Stockton Mayor Anthony Silva reached an agreement with prosecutors Friday in a criminal case related to his actions at a youth camp last year. Silva pleaded no contest to count 3 of providing alcohol to a minor in Amador County Court. In return, three of the four charges against him have been dropped and he will avoid jail time.
As part of the plea deal, Silva will be required to wear an ankle bracelet for a month and will remain on probation for one year. He must complete 40 hours of community service, but is not on the hook for any fines or restitution.
It’s still not over for Silva. In a separate case, prosecutors from San Joaquin County have accused him of embezzling funds from a boys and girls club he was involved with. Silva denies those allegations, chalking it all up to Stockton politics.
