The first female mayor to ever represent the City of Commerce has died. Ruth Aldaco, who also served as president of the California Contract Cities Association (CCCA) from 1993 to 1994, passed away on Aug. 20 at the age of 91.
“The California Contract Cities Association family mourns the loss of Past President Ruth Aldaco,” the CCCA said in a statement. “Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends.”
Funeral services will be held Sept. 4 at St. Marcellinus Catholic Church in Commerce.
