A former Councilman was found dead of a possible drug overdose in an Ontario motel last week.
Mike Spence, previously served the City of West Covina as councilman, Mayor, and board member for West Covina Unified School District.
A worker at the Folk Inn Ontario Airport found Spence unresponsive in a motel room Thursday night and alerted authorities. Paramedics on the scene declared him dead at the scene. No cause of death has been named, but some have suggested a possible drug overdose as the reason following an initial investigation.
He was discovered last year in a similar predicament in Costa Mesa, but first responders were able to save his life.
He leaves behind a wife and two children. He was 52.
