“You’re fired.”
It’s the words that no employee wants to hear, but it happens to the best of us.
Apparently, one city manager in Georgia is a bit unclear on the concept.
Steve Kennedy, the city manager of since 2004, was did not have his contract renewed at the end of the year. Technically, Kennedy was unemployed on Dec. 31, when his previous contract expired
But that didn’t stop Kennedy from showing up for work this week and even called a staff meeting, according to reports.
Awkward.
The city’s mayor said Kennedy’s last day has not been officially decided yet, and added that a special meeting will be held on Feb. 11 to consider an official separation agreement.
