Lancaster Mayor R. Rex Parris is about as tough as they come. The Daily News reports that he was already back at work two hours after a successful surgery to remove a benign cyst from the surface of his brain Wednesday.
Parris, a civil attorney who has served as mayor since April 2008, was taking care of city and legal business from his hospital bed.
“Any surgery presents a multitude of risks, but the human brain is a particularly sensitive area,” Parris said in a statement. “I am overjoyed this procedure went so well and felt moved to reassure my family, friends and community that I am already back to work and taking care of business. I appreciate all of the prayers and well wishes I’ve received.”
We’re in awe of Parris’ dedication and wish him a speedy recovery.
