Below is a list of reputable organizations seeking assistance as they aid wildfire victims and first responders.
Airbnb
Airbnb is supporting hosts who wish to provide shelter to fire victims. Click here to learn more about the program.
Albertsons/Vons Grocery
Albertsons, Vons, and Pavilions are collecting monetary donations for wildfire relief at cash registers through Jan. 30. The grocery store chains will send the donations to the Salvation Army or Red Cross. They have vowed to match the donations up to $100,000. Learn more here.
American Red Cross
The Red Cross is collecting monetary donations and accepting volunteers. Click here to donate. If you are interested in volunteering, you can register online. Training is required.
Baby2Baby
Baby2Baby is providing basic essentials to children impacted by the fires. The organization says it has already distributed over 1 million supplies to people in Los Angeles. Click here to donate or click here to volunteer.
California Community Foundation
The California Community Foundation has established a Wildfire Recovery Fund to provide safe housing, health care, mental health support, firefighter safety gear, and other necessities to those affected by the fires. The organization uses data from CalFire to ensure donations go where they’re needed most.
California Fire Foundation
The California Fire Foundation provides critical support to surviving families of fallen firefighters, firefighters, and the communities they serve. According to L.A. authorities, several firefighters have been injured battling the blazes in Southern California. Convoy of Hope is collecting donations to provide immediate relief for victims in California. Learn more or donate here.
Direct Relief
Direct Relief is currently providing N-95 masks, medicine, and other resources to healthcare agencies and first responders in wildfire-affected areas across California. To donate, click here.
Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation
The Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation is asking for financial donations to provide needed supplies to firefighters in L.A. County such as emergency fire shelters, hydration backpacks, and wildland brush tools. Donate here.
Los Angeles Food Bank
The Los Angeles Food Bank is accepting food, non-food essentials, and monetary donations for displaced residents. Learn more about donating and volunteer opportunities here.
Pasadena Humane
Pasadena Humane is caring for numerous animals displaced by the Eaton fire and is in desperate need of supplies. While direct monetary donations are the most helpful, the organization also has an Amazon wishlist. To donate money or access the wishlist, click here. San Diego Humane Society
The San Diego Humane Society has been evacuating and sheltering animals from the fires in Los Angeles.
“We're really grateful to be able to help in an emergency. Just as we know our animal welfare partners in California and beyond would help us as well,” Jordan Frey, San Diego Humane Society marketing manager, told KPBS. "We know that San Diego is no stranger to wildfires and emergencies.”
