The mayor of Idyllwild is a very good boy.
Despite his penchant for bribes (we hear Milk-Bone is his favorite), Mayor Maximums Mighty Dog Mueller II, is so popular with constituents that he’s earned a lifetime appointment. He’s a golden retriever, yes. And he’s actually the second to hold the title. He took over after the passing of his uncle, Mayor Max I.
Max isn’t the only canine roaming Idyllwild City Hall. He’s joined by deputy mayors Mitzi and Mikey. They’re all owned by Phillis Mueller who takes over any projects that require thumbs or speaking.
The love for Max just can’t be understated. He has made thousands of public appearances before school children, the Girl Scouts, hospitals, and holiday parades during his tenure.
Idyllwild isn't the only town with a mayor who could never disappoint. The mayors of Coromorant, Minnesota and Rabbit Hash, Kentucky are both doggos as well. One of them is currently in his third term.
