Indio City Manager Mark Scott will retire next week after three years at the helm and over 40 years in public service. Scott, who is 70 years old, will step down on Aug. 15.
Scott said he was proud of the work he had accomplished in Indio. He thanked the City Council.
“We have tremendous momentum in Indio and our goal is to continue that momentum," Mayor Glen Miller said (Patch). “This may prove to be a tough time to recruit a successor, but we will begin the search immediately."
Scott was previously the longest tenured city manager in Beverly Hills’ history, according to Indio’s website. He had also worked as a city manager for Culver City, Fresno, Burbank, San Bernardino, and Spartanburg, South Carolina.
